The phrase second-season syndrome has circulated among media commentators, with some expressing caution about the club’s ability to improve and where they might end up in the standings. Numerous analysts have predicted the club will finish 14th as they did previously, or perhaps a couple of spots lower in 15th.
The 49ers have spoken about continued consolidation and taking gradual steps as they work towards restoring the club to regular top-half contenders. It seems that’s precisely what a large portion of the Leeds support anticipates, not in future campaigns but right now.
In a survey on our platform almost 2,700 Leeds supporters had cast their votes by Wednesday evening, with close to half of those anticipating Farke’s squad would secure a top 10 position this term. That would mark a notable advancement, though having witnessed Sunderland finish seventh previously, alongside Brighton and Brentford breaking into the top 10, some Leeds backers think it could be achievable for the club to do similarly.
Seven percent of those surveyed indicated they anticipated a European qualification spot, while 30 percent said they expected a top 10 position, bringing the total to 46 percent of respondents who believe the club are heading for a top 10 finish. A substantial 49 percent anticipate 11th to 14th place, which would constitute steady improvement.
Just five percent expect Leeds to perform worse than last season, and of those, one percent selected the club for relegation.
